HyVee Stacking Savings

This is a great week to shop at Hy-Vee.  Right now, there are a ton of awesome ways to save.  Let me go through it all.

  • First, Hy-Vee is again doing the promotion where you buy a small deep freeze for $189.99 and get the equivalent of that amount back in groceries.  This promotion lasts through 3/25, so you have a bit for this one.
  • Also, you have the fuel saver program, which I have found to be an awesome opportunity to save on my gas and groceries.  I have been regularly saving 40-60 cents a gallon!  With 20 gallons, that savings can really add up.
  • NOW, I have just discovered that you are able to link the Fuel Saver card to Saving Star!  Saving Star works IN ADDITION to your other coupons.
  • If you use HyVee coupons, plus manufacturers' coupons, then get Fuel Saver gas savings and Saving Star payouts, you can really add up a lot of savings from one shopping trip.

Casey's December Coupons

Here are the December savings at Casey's.

My favorite, the $13.99 large taco pizza.  No coupon necessary for this one, nor on the Monday night special--get a free 2 liter of Pepsi with the purchase of any large pizza.

This one will require a coupon, though.  Get a dozen donuts for $5.  You'll need to print the coupon HERE, this is just a pretty picture.

The other December deals are:
  • 2 for $5 Jack Link's
  • 50 cent wings on Monday and Thursday
  • 2 for $7.50 12 packs of Pepsi products
  • $17.99 12 packs of Red Bull
Don't forget to check out the Hy-Vee/Caseys joint Fuel Saver card!  This goes live tomorrow, with the potential to save $2 per gallon of fuel.  I am anxiously awaiting the Wednesday circular to see how it all works in practice.  In theory, it sounds great.

HyVee DEALS!

I noticed this in the HyVee circular yesterday, and it's a great stock up opportunity. This is for their 3-day sale, so Thursday-Saturday only. Get 9 packs of Charmin extra strong or extra soft for only $3.99. If you really want to clean up (heh) this is a great opportunity for you to use up all your Charmin coupons.

In my coupon sorter, I have:
  • $2 off Charmin from the Charmin Sensitive coupon book, making them $1.99 each.
  • 25 cents off Charmin from either of the last two Brandsaver coupon inserts.
Even without the coupons, this is a pretty good opportunity.  While inside the store, I noticed that they also have 20 pack double rolls of Charmin Basic (so the equivalent of 40 rolls) for $7.49, also a pretty great deal.

They also have Lunchables with Fruit 10/$10 and HyVee brand pastas for 77 cents per box.

If you're like me, you can go to Fareway and get all of these items price matched while saving money on the rest of your groceries.  I love that our local Fareway almost always has the items already reduced without me even having to ask.

Some Ames Deals

Looks like this is a clearance deal, but I was alerted to this today.  At the West Ames HyVee, they have a lot of 12 oz. bags of Frosted Mini Spooners or Chocolate Frosted Flakes 4 for $1.  They'd be great to have around for snacks or quick breakfasts, so stock up.

Thanks to a reader who let me know about the deal.  I love being alerted to great new deals, so share!

I also was in Kmart and Target today, and the Halloween stuff was 30% off (costumes only, not candy) at Target and 50% off at Kmart.  Lots of costumes left, so stock your dress-up trunk or get your costumes for next year.

Another good deal at Kmart was called "dorm room in a box."  Originally marked at $69.99, these are marked down to $19.99, and they include:
  • Sheet set--fitted and flat, one or two pillowcases (depending on if it was full or twin or XL twin, they had all three sizes)
  • Comforter
  • Two bath towels
  • Four washcloths
  • Fleece throw
  • USB powered desk lamp
  • All in a really nice plastic tote with lid.

HOT Cereal Stock-up Deals!

These are brand new from the Wednesday circulars, so be sure to look for yours on your front step.
  • HyVee has a coupon in their ad for $10 off if you buy any 6 General Mills cereals.  I have read this coupon from top to bottom, and I don't see any kind of requirements for amounts to spend, there is no "not good with any other offers" or anything else that I can see.  Use your Sunday circular or internet printable coupons for General Mills cereal to lower the cost--AND they are printing a $6 Catalina (cash register coupon) with this deal.
  • Fareway also has a General Mills deal; though theirs is not as restrictive in the products you can buy, it also isn't quite as lucrative.  The coupon is located inside the front page of their ad, and you get $5 back if you buy any 10 General Mills products.  The products listed in the coupon include Chex Mix, Pillsbury, Green Giant, and Old El Paso, among others.  Again, you should be able to use your own coupons to make the deals better.
