August Amazon Grocery Deals

I took a few months off on the grocery deals, since they seemed to be pretty dead over the summer. I just went to check for back to school grocery deals, and they are HERE!  As always, remember that all Amazon deals can change day by day, and they can also sell out at any time.  These prices should last out the month of August, but the popular ones might not.

We'll start with the "clippable" click coupons.  They're always listed in my Amazon post on top, but I'll include them here as well.  I understand people in NY state may not get as many as those of us in other places.  The key here is that the coupons change when you refresh, so if you don't see one that is mentioned, refresh till you do.

The Managers' specials are HERE.

Now for the coupon codes and markdowns!  Remember there's already the 15% with Subscribe and Save, so the coupon code is just added to the per cent off.  You can see all the deals right here .

My favorites:

Several Kellogg's breakfast choices are 25% off.  Subscribe and Save option drops it more. I remember about a year ago when my buy point for cereal was under $1 per box.  Now $2 is an excellent price.

Breakfast Foods
Snack Foods

For me, I like 25-50 cents per snack if I can do it.  I'll go slightly over 50 cents if they are organic or all-natural.
Lunchbox Stuffers
  •  GoGo SqueeZ items are on sale right now, and 15% off.  I always jump on these when I can get them for under 50 cents per pouch.  The ones $28 and under fit the bill, by the time you take off the 15% for Subscribe and Save.
  • Another favorite around here are the Stretch Island fruit leathers.  You can get them for around 30 cents each right now.
  • Organic Valley milk around $1 each.
  • Hershey's Chocolate milks under $1 each.
Remember, these may go in and out of stock as the sale goes on.

May Amazon Grocery Deals

We'll start with the "clippable" click coupons.  They're always listed in my Amazon post on top, but I'll include them here as well.  I understand people in NY state may not get as many as those of us in other places.  The key here is that the coupons change when you refresh, so if you don't see one that is mentioned, refresh till you do.

Now for the coupon codes and markdowns!  Remember there's already the 15% with Subscribe and Save, so the coupon code is just added to the per cent off.  You can see all the deals right here .

This month is gluten free month, with TONS of markdowns and deals on gluten free grocery items.  I've been dabbling a bit in gluten free, so I now can see what a good price many of these are.  Here are my favorite:
  • Tiger Tiger rice noodle bowls, they are $20 for 8 bowls, then save 15% with subscribe and save, and an additional $1.50 with the coupon.  That brings them down under $2 per package.

  • Rise Bars in various flavors, 5% off with subscribe and save, and an additional 10% off when you click this coupon.  This brings many down to around $1 each.
  • Urban Pantry bean mix, three large jars or organic beans, go from $20.25 to $17.21 with subscribe and save, then take $3 off with coupon.  That makes these beans under $5 per jar.
Check out all the deals, though!  These are just my best buys.

April Amazon Grocery Deals

April already!

(So far, they still have the March deals, but I will add the new ones when they come)

For now, take advantage of 50% off Easter candy, and:

  • Some great deals on Kellogg's cereals.  It became apparent that I need to review my opinion of a good price, since HyVee recently had these for half price--$2 a box!  Here is the link to all the ones on sale.  I don't see any stellar deals right now, but the prices will drop throughout the month.
  • The Movers and Shakers list, which will show you the deals being snapped up.  I check this every day to find the best Amazon grocery prices.
Watch throughout the month for the short term deals.

Price Points -- Snack Items

I think this is an important concept to have in mind, especially when you are looking to buy items in bulk or to form a stockpile.  I've posted before some of my ideas about stockpiling common household goods and groceries, but I think it's an important thing to consider.

Very often, warehouse stores can have better prices on items that you purchase in bulk, but you still have to do the math.  Once you get your price point in mind, you'll be able to quickly figure out if the item is worth buying.

My general price point on snacks is 25 cents per serving, though I will go up to 50 cents per serving if the item is organic or a favorite healthy snack.  I have specific foods that I know the kids will eat, and I also like to buy up items for when we have to provide a snack for the class.  24 items at a time can really eat into a tight grocery budget.  Often, large bags can be a much better cost, and I usually prefer less packaging. With the requirement of individually packaged snacks for school, they are nice to have on hand.

Here's an example, and this is one I'm buying today:

Goldfish, individual serving packages.  There are 60 per package, and Amazon has them for $17.76 today.  Though it doesn't quite hit my 25 cent threshold, it is a pretty great deal and I will have 2-4 days' of school snack and a few for the house.

These beat the quarter ratio--$15.33 for a total of 72 granola bars make them 21 cents each. The Quaker chewy bars are 29 cents each, but another favorite.

Now, this is one of our favorite snacks to have for lunch boxes or snacks on the go. It will never get to 25 cents a serving, but it gets special circumstance because it has no added sugar and is made with nothing but fruit. It's also a HUGE favorite. I buy them up whenever I can get them for under $24 for 48 packages. Right now, strawberry flavor only are $21.73 with subscribe and save.

34 cents each for organic fruit bars. We like these as well, and $10.19 for 30 is great.

What's your price point?  I don't have a warehouse store membership because we didn't think there was enough savings to justify the membership fee.  Adding to the confusion, these items fit my rule for items delivered to my home--Subscribe and Save always includes free shipping.  My Amazon shopping money all comes from Swagbucks, so I am a little freer with it.

I also really think that everyone has to have their own price list.  In my case, my grocery shopping choices are fairly limited.  My stores will not double coupons.  In the area where I live, we're not going to buy $600 worth of groceries for a handful of pocket change, but we do the best we can.

FREE Quaker Oatmeal Squares Sample

Well, they posted this a few days ago on Facebook, and I signed up but didn't bother posting. A lot of time the Facebook freebies go so fast that they aren't worth the effort of opening a new post on Blogger.

Today, Quaker posted AGAIN that their free sample is still available. Since it would seem that they have a million to give away, click on over HERE to get yours. This is our favorite cereal, but we eat it as a treat. I love that whenever they send a free sample, they stick in a nice $1 off coupon so we can buy more.

So far this month, I see some good deals on Kashi.  No coupon needed, just click this link for all of the Kashi products that are marked down.  A few of my favorites are coming down under $3 per box.

The coupon codes don't seem to be happening as much as last year, so I think the best Amazon grocery deals are going to be fleeting.  I check them daily, so I will post when I find the great ones.

Amazon Grocery Deals, 1/31

I've found some really good deals today for Lipton Teas. If you're a tea drinker, this looks like a terrific opportunity to stock up.

First, there's a 50 cent coupon off these select Lipton products, then remember that you will also get 15% off when you choose subscribe and save.

Check out the quantities! This first one is 24 boxes of 16 bags, and it will only be $8.80 after the two discounts. The rest are still awesome deals.

The next coupon is $1.00 off when you buy two of these Ragu sauces. These are 4 packs of the large 45 ounce jar, and some of these are marked down to around $16. Once you subtract the two discounts, you're down around $3 per jar.

One last find. These Quaker Chewy bars have a coupon for 20% off, then there's the additional 15% off. I just checked out with the peanut butter chocolate chip ones for $1.75 a box.

Stock up and save.

Amazon Peanut Butter Deals 1/30

The peanut butter deals have been few and far between since I first posted about the price hikes back in October. FINALLY, you can get some decent prices. Make sure to click on the clip coupon under the price for $1 off, and choose the subscribe and save option.

My preferred price point is around $1.50 a jar. These are hovering closer to $2 a jar, but this might be a good price if you are in need of a stockup.

These will go fast!

These deals look like they will last through the end of the month, though there are some of the items with only a few left.

These three misters have 3 bottles each for around $16. Take $4 additional off by clicking the coupon in the link (or you can go through the page with all the grocery coupons to find it) and then an additional 15% off to make these just over $3 per bottle.  This is perfect for using on a salad or to oil a pan.

Here are three great dried fruit snacks--click the coupon for 15% off, then get another 15% off with subscribe and save.

I will post more as I find them.

Amazon Community Coffee, Keurig Deal

Stock up on some good coffee, and take advantage of this chance to get two Ekobrews for your Keurig.  Right now, Community Coffee on Amazon has a 10% off coupon using code COMMUN92 through the end of January.  They also have the 15% subscribe and save discount.

There are a lot of great coffee types that will end up very inexpensive with the stacked discounts, and my favorite: get two Ekobrew filters for your Keurig and a bag of coffee for $22.50.  Subscribe and save always comes with free shipping from Amazon, and you will be able to change or cancel your subscription at any time.

On all of these listed below, be sure to see that some are 6 packages for that price, and the list price doesn't have the discount figured in.

Enjoy!

January Amazon Grocery Deals

I didn't even get to the grocery deals in December, figuring most people were focusing on Christmas shopping. Now that that's over, it's time to start getting back to the business of saving money.

This is the month for New Year's Resolutions, so all the food discounts are for healthy foods.

(I think that they're a little late getting out the extra % off coupon codes, so I will add them in when they get added to Amazon.)

Amazon Deals 11/7

I'm compiling all the best deals here in one post today, and will add to it as the day goes on.  We've got toys, groceries, and a little bit of everything right here.

This one looks like a great man gift opportunity.  Bosch is a good brand name, and they have $20 off $100 when you buy certain Bosch products.  Check out the link for full list of items, but this one is great!  It is just over $100, so taking off $20 would bring it down to $80ish for a very nice drill.  This deal lasts through November 20.

This first aid deal looks pretty good.  You could stock up on a ton of Band-aids and Neosporin for 20% off.  Use code STKUPSAV for the discount, but you have to spend $20 first.  I tried combining it with Subscribe and Save, and it did NOT work.  Good through November 13.

This same coupon code work for a lot of toothbrush, toothpaste, and Listerine items, also feminine care and other health items.  It doesn't seem there's an upper limit for how many items you can include in the sale.  If you're trying to use up flex dollars from your MSA, this might be the place to do it.

Amazon Grocery Deals, 11/4

Here are the best grocery deals I see for today. For the monthly deals and coupons,be sure to see my November Amazon grocery post.  If you haven't seen already, peanut butter prices are set to skyrocket mid-November due to peanut shortages.  Most of Amazon's peanut butter has already shot up, but there are a few left low.

This Organic Valley milk is rare to find, especially on sale.

Some other favorites:

These Clif bars are less than 50 cents a piece, and it works for most varieties! Act fast on these, because this is very low. Remember, it's 20 bars for under $7. You should be able to do a different subscribe and save for each kind.

Kashi bars under $2 per box, and they're the yummy ones.

Cabbage Roll Casserole Rewind

I have posted the recipe for cabbage roll casserole before on my blog, but I just made a ton of it and started thinking just how inexpensive and reasonably healthy this meal can be.

This weekend when I went grocery shopping, I discovered all the necessary ingredients on sale at once.  Fareway's circular plus the price matching for the other local ads made this a very affordable option.  Because I like to make ahead and freeze meals, I made a lot of this family favorite.  I cooked 3 8x8 pans (feeds 4) and one 9x13 pan (feeds 8).  I froze the three smaller ones right away, and I cooked the large pan.  My husband can take the leftovers for lunch, and I often freeze individual portions for later.

You can click the link for the recipe.  I change this up depending on what items I have on hand, so here is the price break down.

Cabbage Roll Casserole
  • 2 cans tomato soup 2/1.00          1.00
  • 2 cans diced tomatoes 2/1.00     1.00
  • 2 cans tomato sauce @.86         1.72
  • 2 lbs ground pork @1.99           3.98
  • 1 bag long grain rice @.99          0.99
  • 4 bags cabbage @.88                 3.52

$12.21
20 servings = 61 cents per serving

I didn't add in the cost of the salt, pepper, or other spices I put in the recipe.  $2.44 for feeding a family of four is very good.  This meal has lots of good veggies, rice, and protein.  I used ground pork, but have also used sausage, ground turkey, and ground beef.

I also love that I have three more meals in the freezer for other days.
