Covered Bridge Festival

This is a great small town festival! Winterset plans this weekend to coincide with the awesome fall colors. It's a beautiful area of the state, with a lot of rolling hills and colorful trees.

Visit Winterset any time, but this festival provides a lot more opportunities.  You can see all the information on their website HERE.  Carve out the whole weekend so you have time to take it all in.

Watch a small town parade

Visit John Wayne's birthplace

See a car show that spans most of the downtown area

Check out all six of Madison County's remaining covered bridges

Don't miss Pammel Park, with the beautiful and fun spillway.

The Winterset City Park is another must-see.  It has a hedge maze, the gorgeous Clark Tower, and lots of beautiful scenery and walking opportunities.

So, check it out!  It's this coming weekend, October 8 and 9.
